A Note From Mrs. Graham

According to our kindergarten friends who did announcements on Friday, there are only 7 and a half more school days. I just want all of you to know that I have enjoyed the time I have spent teaching your children this school year. Being together has been a blessing for all of us. MATH

It's all about Data. We are surveying, recording, reading, and constructing graphs.

READING

Animal Project Progress: Slides shows are ready to share. Written reports are close to being complete. Watercolor painting of researched animal is also complete. An added step in the research project is sighting our sources for our animal facts. When you see the resources page in the written report, you will be viewing the first attempt at a bibliography page. We did not even talk about putting these sources in alphabetical order. I can't guarantee that the sources are accurate or that every stitch of information obtained is sighted, but from now on they should be aware that they need to write down their sources.

Our read aloud stories this week and last have been from Max Lucado and Robert Munsch.

AR-The deadline for this final nine weeks is the 18th. Please help your child obtain this goal.

Party Information

Ethan's end of year party is at his grandparent's pool. It is Saturday from 2-5. If raining, indoor activities are planned. Parents are welcome to stay. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Detailed invitations went home last week.

Aaron's birthday party is the 19th at Pump it Up in Cool Springs. It will be from 5-7:30. The address is 7104 Crossroads Boulevard, Brentwood, TN 37027. An evite will be sent from Mrs. Pulgarin.

End of School Year Party on the 24th will be at school. We will have wet and dry inflatables so pack a change of clothes, a towel, a lunch, and shoes that can get wet. Please apply sunscreen and bug spray at home before coming to school.

REWARDS

The students who reached their 4th nine weeks AR goals will be eating lunch at the Red Caboose Park on May 20th. Please pack a lunch and drinks if your child will be participating.

The students who have reached their AR goals all year long will be going to MaKay's to pick out a book and then to Sonic for a soft drink, slush, or milkshake.

The Honor's pep rally for the 4th nine weeks will be on the 20th beginning at 2:00. (I think) This is for the 3-5 students who have academic awards coming for their work this nine weeks. All are welcome to attend.

On Award's Day we will celebrate students' accomplishments. The Eagle Pride award and Soaring Eagle award, AR high point winners, and perfect attendance awards will be given for second graders. There will be additional awards given in the third through fifth grade classes. This is on the 25th beginning at 9:00 in the Multi-purpose room. Your child can be dismissed with you at the conclusion. Report cards will be given at this time.
