Schmucker PTO Newsletter

November 2019

From the President

I hope everyone had a great fall break. It’s hard to believe it’s November already, although lately this weather does remind us fall is here!

October was busy for the PTO with conferences, a book fair and two restaurant nights. We would like to thank everyone who sent in items for the staff dinner during the Wednesday conferences. Hopefully everyone got to shop the book fair, I know when I stopped in it was busy. A special thanks to Megan Fox for setting it up and being there all week so our students could come during the day to shop as well!

This November we will have a Poinsettia sale. Information will come home with your student soon. This is an easy way to earn money for the 8th grade DC trip! All grades can earn, not just current 8th graders. Thank you to all the volunteers who help with this sale, especially Jill Harms, who has done a great job for several years organizing it to make sure all runs smoothly!

We are still looking to fill some PTO roles. Currently, we are looking for someone to take over Scrip for next year. This is also a way to earn money for DC, so it’s a very important role. Cindy Basil is looking for someone to shadow her this year, so it will be an easy transition to take over next year.

We are also still looking into some fundraising ideas as a board. Hopefully everyone was able to head to Portillo’s or Chipotle to get dinner and support the PTO. Small and easy fundraisers like these can make a huge impact if everyone can participate!

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out. Our next general meeting will be Thursday, November 7th at 1pm. Hope to see you there!
