Labor Day Parade

9:25 AM: Report to Lincoln Square Mall parking lot to assemble for parade. Meet at the entrance off Broadway and Illinois on the South side of the mall. Students should plan to leave their cases with parents or in cars because there is no secure place to put them at Lincoln Square Mall and they cannot be carried on the route.

10:00 AM: Parade Begins.

11:30 AM/12:00 PM: Parade ends at Prairie Park, 1202 E. Washington St.

Dress: UHS Bands Polo, khaki shorts. Sunglasses are allowed, but no hats.

Route: The parade route will start at Lincoln Square, then South on Broadway, east on

Washington Street, then ends at Prairie Park.

Pick Up: Students should plan to be picked up after the parade at Prairie Park.

Transportation back to the high school will not be provided.

Inclement Weather: Students will be accountable for preparing for inclement weather if

it is forecasted. Woodwind instruments: it might be a good idea to bring a plastic shopping

bag with you and put it in your pocket in case you need to take your instrument apart and

keep it safe from rain. We will send out a text through Remind should the parade be cancelled because of weather.

**Make sure to eat breakfast and drink plenty of water beforehand. It will be hot and

although the route isn’t long, it takes a lot of energy to march and play in the parade. We

want to make sure everyone is safe.

Water: Students, please be responsible for bringing water. Draw string bags or light

backpacks are great for carrying a water bottle, music, or whatever else you may need

during this trip. UPDATE: There will be parents with water walking along the parade route.
