Read this entire newsletter for all of the important items and to-do's as we come together for another great year at Jasper High School!
Staff Handbook (All Staff)
Please take time before the first day of classes to review the updated Staff Handbook. You will electronically sign at the end of the document. Be sure that you are logged in to your PISD Google account in order to access the document.
It is also recommended that you review the Student Handbook so that you are aware of student expectations on our campus.
Staff Contact Information (All Staff)
We ask that all staff complete this Google Form before the first day of school.
Safety and Training Videos (All Staff)
Please complete all mandatory training videos via SafeSchools for the 2019-2020 school year. An overview of the required trainings, including due dates, and directions for logging into SafeSchools may be accessed here. Optional trainings may be completed on a voluntary basis and are not required.

Campus and Individual PD Reminders (All Professional Staff)
REQUIRED 7.5 HOURS CAMPUS PD: For the 2019-2020 School Year, we are requiring training to be completed in SEL, HRS, and Educational Technology. All PISD campuses will be closed on November 25, 2019, in exchange for these Campus Trade Hours.
- 6 hours of SEL & HRS
- Face-to-Face Format
- Choose 6/11 or 7/23 from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm OR seven 45 minute sessions spread across the school year (7:45-8:30 or 4:30-5:15; Dates TBD).
- 1.5 hours of Educational Technology
- Google Classroom (Code=dog70am) assignment completed independently in preparation for 8/1 combined training with Rice and Robinson at Jasper from 8:30-4:30 with Alan November
- Read each article, and post your answer to the question.
REQUIRED 7.5 HOURS PERSONAL PD: All staff are required to complete professional learning hours connected to their goal. These hours are self chosen. See the PISD Professional Learning site and Region 10 for resources. These hours are to be completed between May 25, 2019, and April 3, 2020, and will be applied to the Trade Day on April 13, 2020. All teachers are expected to pursue professional learning on an on-going basis, however; if you choose not to record these hours or accrue hours in this manner by April 3rd, 2020, you must submit for unpaid leave on April 13th, 2020. You will not be able to use state or local personal leave for this absence in accordance with PISD Board Policy (DEC Local). 4, 2018.

Staff Remind
Please take time to sign up to receive message from our staff Remind. We will use this tool to communicate safety & security information as well as important campus updates and reminders. We need 100% participation to help ensure a consistent, swift response in the event of any safety issues or important campus updates, especially when e-mail access is not available.
To sign up for the campus staff Remind: Text @jagstaff1 to the number 81010.
If you signed up for the campus Remind last year, you do not need it to do it again.
Staff Approval to Drive District Vehicles
Any staff that will drive a district vehicle throughout the year needs to click on the following link and fill out Request for Driver's License Record Information for PISD EMPLOYEES.

MLP Download
PISD is moving to a new Professional Learning Management platform. It will be helpful for all employees to download and print their portfolio as a record of their Professional Learning hours before we sunset MLP. See these instructions for downloading your profile; this must be done by September 1st. Only the last five years will transfer over to our new system, PowerSchool.
Classroom Needs
As you get into your classrooms and you find things that need to be added or taken away, please click HERE to input your request. We will do our best to meet these needs. We do need all requests reported by 4:00 pm on 8/8 in order to have all items taken care of prior to student arrival. Continue to use this form through 4:00 pm on 8/16.
If you need items removed from your classroom, please place a yellow sticky note on the items with the word "Remove" and place it in the hallway.

Open Enrollment (All Staff)
Returning employees have until Friday, August 23rd, to submit their choice to either enroll or decline coverage. Starting July 25th, you may login to TEAMS Employee Service Center to complete your enrollment. All staff members must complete this required action.
New employees will receive separate information, and may have a different deadline.
Employees can access all information on the 2019-2020 Benefits Open Enrollment page. Also available are step-by-step videos to assist with the enrollment process and contact information if you need assistance.
Electronic Communication
All staff members are expected to be knowledgeable of PISD's Social Media Guidelines regarding both professional and personal use.
In addition to the above, please make sure that all communications (social media, teacher webpage, group messaging, Remind, email, etc.) adhere to the highest professional standards.

CORE Store
A few important items to note about shopping at the CORE Store:
- Space is limited at the CORE Store. We will do our best to move people through the process as efficiently as possible.
- Each teacher will be able to shop for up to 50 items in the store.
- For weekday appointments, register at https://corestore.3cfreestore.com/Teacher/TeacherServices. School/Campus selection is required.
