Welcome to the 22-23 School Year at Kissel Hill Elementary!

Greetings, KHE Families!

I hope this communication finds you well as we gear up for the 22-23 school year! My family was blessed to spend time together in Disney World this summer! We also did quite a few other activities such as: Kreider Farms Tour, Washington DC Zoo, visited the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA, visited the Pentagon Memorial in DC, went to a Tampa Bay Rays game, a Washington Nationals game, and our kids and the neighbors held a few lemonade stands. I'm looking forward to talking with kids to see what all they did this summer!

One of my favorite, if not favorite times of the year is the transition from summer into fall. With the changing of the seasons also comes the excitement of a new school year! However, I do know that students and families are returning with varying perceptions of school, especially after the past couple of years! Therefore, we recognize that the start of the school year is one of the most important times for students and families in determining how a school year will go. That is why it is essential for the school, families, and community to work together to meet the diverse needs of all students. We look forward to partnering with you to ensure your child (ren) is excited to come to Kissel Hill Elementary everyday to make memories, learn, and grow.

As we begin a new school year I would encourage you to engage in conversation with your child about school, provide them a quiet place to read and/or work on school assignments, and don't hesitate to reach out to the school to ensure your child is getting everything they need to thrive. It's essential to establish routines at school as well as at home, especially early in the school year.

I'm looking forward to a great 22-23 school year at Kissel Hill Elementary - Go Climbers!

Important Notes as we Start the Year!

Please ensure that all individuals who you are permitting to pick up your child are identified on their contact list (you may call the office to check who is on this list). In our continued efforts to increase safety and security for all students and staff in the Warwick School District, any person picking up a student(s) at a school will be required to enter the front office and show identification in order take the student(s). Any person who is not on the student's contact list will not be permitted to sign the student out of a building.

All adults moving beyond the office into the building will be signing into WSD’s Gate Guardian. Your ID will be scanned and a badge will be printed with your picture and designated location. Please ensure this badge is returned to the office before you exit as this is how you will sign out. Please bring your ID with you each time you come to school.

Announcements are sent out via electronic communication called Blackboard Connect. We attempt to send most announcements that are Warwick related on Wednesday and hold community announcements until Friday.
