Ford Drive 4 UR Community Event-Fundraiser
This past Friday we had an opportunity to partner with Park Cities Ford for the Drive 4UR Community event. Many of you participated and helped Maple Lawn raise some funds for some equipment for the clinic and Spanish book sets for our students. Ford donated $20 bucks for each survey completed and Park Cities Ford gave $10 for each survey.
I received the final numbers from Ms. Enright. We had 68 people complete surveys and we earned $2040.00!!!! Not bad for a fundraiser from 10-2. We hope to do this again next year and now that we know what to expect I know we will have many more surveys completed. Way to come together for our school!
Lone Star Challenge
This Saturday our students competed in aLone Star Challenge is the elementary competition equivalent to Academic Decathlon and Academic Pentathlon. Nine-member teams are comprised of: Fourth and Fifth graders.
Our students did a PHENOMENAL job!! We placed in every category and won 3rd place out of 112 schools in the Super Quiz live audience contest. In our inaugural year, our students outshined schools that had been competing for years. Their resolve to do their best and countless hours of practicing with the coaches paid off!
Special shout out to Mr. Gutierrez and Ms. Birdsong for all of their hours of preparation and practice with the kiddos to ensure they were ready!! Go Rockets !
