Friday Night Lights
October 27, 2016
What better way to add to our 50th anniversary celebration than with the opening of our brand new turf field? On Monday, LMS and LHS students, faculty, staff, and special guests were part of the big unveiling as we kicked off a week's worth of athletic contests on the new turf. We started with a pep rally (see a small preview below), and will finish with our celebration on Friday night. Read on to find out more about our Friday night events honoring current and former Cardinal athletes and celebrating our first football game under the new lights!

Friday Night Lights
It is also SENIOR NIGHT, and we will be honoring all of our football, marching band, and cheerleader seniors!
Come early to avoid lines at the ticket booth, and come hungry because we will have a food truck and concession stands open starting at 5:30 p.m. The 28th will certainly be a night to remember, and we hope you will join us in this historic evening for LHS!
Parent-Teacher Conference Scheduling
The Parent-Teacher Conference Scheduling Portal is NOW OPEN! Follow the link on the LHS homepage under Quick Links to access a list of teachers by department. Once you choose a teacher, you will be directed to Event Brite to order a free "ticket" to your chosen conference time. Please follow the prompts on the site to choose each of your conferences. Room numbers are listed in "Event Info." Event Brite will email you a confirmation of each "order." If you have any questions about this process, please email kroche@ltps.org.
This portal will be open from Monday, October 24th through Monday, November 14th.
Halloween Safety
- If you are trick-or-treating, please watch for vehicles and carry a flashlight, especially if you are not wearing bright clothing. Always walk with a friend!
- If you are driving, drive slowly and watch for pedestrians. Trick-or-treaters might be crossing the street anywhere, not just in intersections.
- Yield to pedestrians. They might not see you or might not know how to safely cross the street.
- Avoid distractions while driving. It only takes a second for a child to dart out into the street when you're not looking.
- If you are dropping off children, use your hazard lights to draw attention for the cars around you.
Have a frightful, delightful, deliciously fun Halloween!
Challenge Day Returns
Challenge Day is once again coming to LHS! This is a powerful and transformational day that can change the way people view each other forever. It deals with a wide range of issues such as leadership, self-esteem, social oppression, violence, teasing, and more. The day is fun, empowering, eye-opening, and often emotional, but can lead to lifelong friendships and new experiences. Read more about Challenge Day at www.challengeday.org.
Students, it's not too late to sign up! Please check your .info emails for the permission slip from Mrs. Lopez.
