Shepard News & Notes
February 2, 2018
Hello Shepard Families:
Please our PTSO section below for several important announcements!
Warm Regards,
John1st/FINAL Posting - Reality 101
Your child is participating in a program called Reality 101 on Thursday, Feb 8th.
If you aren’t familiar, it’s an excellent program where each student is given a different scenario of what it’s like after they finish school & are in the real world: such as education, employment, marital status, & whether or not they have children/if so how many. Then, they need to plan & budget accordingly based on their situation. There are 12 stations where they’ll make decisions for things like housing, transportation, and where they’ll buy their groceries and clothing based on their income & expenses.
Here’s where you come in...
We need 2 volunteers at each station. There are 2 shifts based on your child’s Social Studies class:
Shift 1 = 8:00-10:09 for cores 1 & 2
Shift 2 = 12:55-3:00 for cores 3 & 4
Please email me at stefplus3@yahoo.com if you are interested in volunteering & don’t forget to indicate which shift you would like.

Over the next two weeks, we request donations of a variety of items so that these teens can enjoy a special Valentine's Day, and feel some SHEPARD LOVE.
How To Help?

- Single-wrapped Valentine's candies, chocolate kisses, single-serve snacks, packages of sugar-free gum.
- Small-sized toiletries, gift cards ($5 McDonald's are perfect), hats, gloves, slippers (Walgreens/Dollar store has great Valentine goodies).
