2017 Greenville Splash Adult Learn To Swim Program

Greenville Splash Volunteers Abound

Greenville Splash is fulfilling our mission of extending our passion for swimming all over the Upstate! We have successfully taught 60 swimmers to swim in our adult learn to swim program. Please take a moment to watch our video that captures the compassion and enthusiasm of our swimmers and volunteers! We had a family that is now complete after the mom took lessons from us and now she is able to go on vacation and swim with her kids. We had a breast cancer survivor that was able to learn enough to be able to go out and complete a workout of 750 yards. We had one swimmer that already was able to rescue someone that needed help swimming on a rafting trip. Our lessons have inspired so many. We are also in the season for getting ready for our Upstate Splash Charity Swim. So far our funds have been used to teach 1,100 children to swim. And if that's not enough we had 10 volunteer kayakers that helped out at our first group open water swim of the season. There really is nothing better than giving back to our community and spreading the joy of our wonderful sport. Our sixteen volunteers for ALTS were: Leah Aragon, Barbara Barber, Amy Browning, Allan Byer, David Hall, Doug Long, Mark Kothe, Carolyn Moore, Casey Oliver, Melissa Patterson, Judi Rich, Leslie Scott, Allyson Seitzer, Tyler Sites, Claire Walker, and Kim Williams.

David Hall Swimmer of the Month

We are proud to recognize David Hall as swimmer of the month! He was the first person to volunteer and sign up to help with our adult learn to swim program. David shares our conviction of the importance of swimming as a life skill. He was so thoughtful and inquisitive during the instructor training and asked really great questions. David came to our lessons straight from a stressful day at work, but he transformed into a compassionate and caring instructor as he worked with his eager students. He had a smile every evening and truly enjoyed his experience helping others. David loves to swim distance events and is a remarkable triathlete. David was in a very serious bicycle accident one year ago and is already progressing back to being in awesome shape. Your love of swimming, safety, volunteerism and staying fit inspires everyone at Greenville Splash!

Mountains to Main Triathlon

We had so many Greenville Splash athletes that were planning to participate but this local event had to be cancelled due to weather. We still want to acknowledge all of our swimmers that trained so hard for many months! That training will pay off in future events.

Lake Murray Triathlon

Impressive races from our favorite triathletes: Ruth Albright, AnnLee Giltner, Becki McKee, Mari Steinbach, Jose Villa, and Garrett Molzer

Congratulations to Bridget Yates for swimming her first time in open water. She swam over a mile and loved it! Lol, just ask her about it.
