I hope that our everyone had a wonderful weekend and that you remembered to move your clocks forward one hour today as Daylight Savings Time began!
Second and third grade families, when last month's Flag Salute was canceled, I shared that your students would be performing at the March Flag Salute. Due to a scheduling conflict, the second and third grade student performance at Flag Salute has been pushed to May 26th. Be sure to mark your calendar!
Spring Break is later this month and will be here before we know it! There will be no school for students Monday, March 27th through Friday, March 31st.
This week is bound to be another busy one!

DINE OUT: MARCH 15TH
Our next PTO fundraiser Dine Out will be on Wednesday, March 15th (12 - 8 pm) at Tin Leaf Fresh Kitchen in Carlsbad. Order in or take out for a healthy lunch or dinner for your family, with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options!
Make sure to mention the LCM Fundraiser and they’ll donate 20% of the proceeds back to our school.
POPSICLE FRIDAY: MARCH 17TH
OPEN HOUSE - MARCH 23RD
The LCM Open House will be on Thursday, March 23rd. Students will be able to show you around school and you'll visit their classrooms so they can show you how hard they've been working all year. We can't wait to see you on campus!
Classrooms will be open for families to visit from 6:00 - 7:00 PM.
Our Book Fair will be open from 5:30 - 7:00 PM, so be sure to stop by to check out the spring collection!
Friday Flag Salute - March 24TH
Join us for our next Friday Flag Salute on Friday, March 24th. Parents attending Flag Salute may enter campus at 8:15 AM with their first through fifth grader(s), parents of TK students may enter at 8:15 AM with their children through the kindergarten gate, and parents of kindergarten students may enter at 8:30 AM with their children through the kindergarten gate.
Please note that for safety reasons younger siblings attending Flag Salute with their family may not play on the play structure before school or during Flag Salute. Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation with this!
PTO will also have our coffee cart available for adults, along with with breakfast and snack options for kids. Bring a few bucks to donate, or send some cash along with your child (as well as the signed permission slip). Our PTO will have an additional table setup to purchase Dolphin Gear (dolphins, hats, etc). Thanks for your support!
PARENTS NIGHT OUT: MARCH 18TH
BOOK FAIR: MARCH 20TH - 24TH
March 20-24th Mrs. Rapo will host our Spring Scholastic Book Fair in the library! 1st - 5th grade students will visit the book fair during their regularly scheduled library time. Parents will have the opportunity to shop the book fair from 5:30-7pm March 23rd during Open House, as well as Friday March 24th 8:15-8:45 am prior to our March Flag Salute.
Visit our Scholastic Book Fair webpage to set up and fund an eWallet to make purchasing books easy for your student. Cash & credit cards will also be accepted.
Mrs. Rapo needs help to staff the book fair! It is a fun and fast paced opportunity to help, and volunteers always have a great time! Visit the volunteer sign up genius to see where you can help out.

Spring cleaning?!? Donate your gently used books to the library! Mrs. Rapo is collecting books for the Used Book Sale in May. Just send your gently used books with your kiddos to school and they can drop off in the library. Thank you for your donations!
Transfer Requests & Enrollment Dates
The SMUSD transfer window is now open. Intradistrict transfer requests for students who live inside of the district boundaries, as well as Interdistrict transfer requests for students who live outside of the district boundaries, are both open now through March 24, 2023. San Marcos Sheriff’s Office Hosting Free Car Seat Event

CalKIDS Provides Free Money for College
CalKIDS is a new program from the State of California that provides up to $1,500 in free money for college to eligible public school students. CalKIDS can help families boost their children’s college savings and increase access to higher education. Families can choose to attend at the San Diego or San Marcos locations.
