Navigating Forward, Together
11.06.20
Hello Oakland Families,
Welcome to November!
This is a wonderful time for us to take a moment and reflect on where we are, how far we have come, and all that we have to be grateful for. We fully realize that we are all facing some very difficult things right now. As the holiday seasons approach, that may add an additional level to stress, too. We urge you to please take a moment. Take a breath and take stock of the things that we do have to be grateful for.
Please know that we are so grateful for each of you. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with your children and for the support that you have provided them (and us!) in this season. Please reach out to us if there is anything that we are able to do to support your family at this time.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Adams and Lindsay Burns

STEM Materials
In addition to the materials the STEM teachers send home, it will also be necessary from time to time for students to have their own “building” materials that should be easily accessible. Here’s a list of suggestions:

As always, please feel free to contact the STEM teachers directly with any questions or concerns you might have:
Information from our Technology Department
Digital Citizenship - More and more tools are being introduced to the Antioch CCSD 34 environment to enhance student learning. Please have conversations regarding digital citizenship (resource from Common Sense Education) and appropriate use of technology (D34 Guidelines for Responsible Use of Technology). For example, students might use their @antioch34.com account to sign up for a free Zoom account and utilize the chat feature outside of a meeting. While this is a form of collaboration, it can be easily mis-used. Focusing on digital citizenship can lead to appropriate use of these amazing tools. As a reminder, all Antioch CCSD 34 owned devices are filtered for content and monitored via a 3rd party software installed on the devices.
- Report Cards - On Tuesday, November 10th, Report Cards will be emailed home and posted to the Parent PowerSchool Portal. Please reference the Trimester 1 Criteria Sheets while reviewing the report cards. If you indicated no electronic reports through registration, our building office will send home a paper copy of the report and criteria sheet to you.
