SPED Speak

December 2014 Edition

January 5th District & Building In-Service Day

There will not be SpEd specific professional development on January 5th (unless you have been individually notified/informed). Please refer to and enjoy the activities provided through Teaching and Learning, as well as your building leadership teams. Watch for communication from your building to learn about the dates/times/locations of events scheduled for that day.

Have a safe and wonderful break! We look forward to seeing you when we return in 2015!

Assessments

The window will close for the first round of DLM assessments on December 18th. Please let Melynda know if you are having issues with the system. The 2nd window opens January 5th and closes March 16th. More information will follow as we have it. Thank you for your continued hard work with this new system.

Extended School Year (ESY)

Please remember to collect data for any student that is “to be determined” for ESY before they leave for the Winter break. This information can be useful when determining regression and recoupment. Talk with Melynda or your Coordinators if you have questions.

K Time

If you are including K Time minutes on your student's IEPs, please remember to end that service line on the student's 6th birthday.
