Academy of the Arts at Bransom
December 4-December 8 (School Days 68-72)
A Note From Your Principal
I hope this note finds you gearing up for the upcoming holiday festivities and celebrations. Below, you can get an idea of the campus activities and presentations about to take place. Just to highlight a few new activities, notice that our 3rd graders will be performing their Christmas Program at Alsbury Baptist Church next Tuesday evening. The Bransom Sound Choir will be performing with the Centennial High School Choirs on December 14th at CHS. What an amazing opportunity! The Bransom Sound's annual Winter program will be this Thursday evening in our Bransom gym.
Also, there are a number of days where students may choose to wear a holiday shirt, pjs, or an ugly sweater. So please take note and make plans. Your child will want to participate.
Speaking of being out of uniform, our 5th graders were the winners for the best attendance last week - 98% WOW! This qualified them for an out-of-uniform day this Thursday. Congratulations to 5th graders and Thanks 5th grade parents for making a significant difference on our campus attendance achievement - 96.41% for the campus.
In closing I want to remind everyone that the final days of the semester are upon us and we are all looking forward to the upcoming holiday break! HOWEVER, our school's academic performance during these final two and a half weeks needs to be amazing so everyone must work hard in the coming days.
WE MUST ALL ...
Be present!
Be prepared!
Be productive!
We know that there is really no time to spare. Mid-Year Benchmark assessments are being given, final report card grades are being collected, and semester averages are being calculated. A lot depends on the work we produce in the next 13 days. The district will be comparing "Beginning of the Year" measures with "Middle of the Year" measures to see our school's progress and your child's results matter to us all.
Keep encouraging your children everyday to do their very best in all they do. As a family maintain a healthy lifestyle - nutritional eating , sleeping enough, and exercising regularly.
We look forward to seeing you all in the coming weeks at our musical performances, class parties, and especially at 11:45AM on December 22. Of course, I'm kidding but do take note of this early dismissal on the final day before the holiday break.
We appreciate you choosing the Academy of the Arts at Bransom to call home. We know you have a choice in your child's education.
Respectfully,
Mrs. Burchfield
PTO's PEPPERMINT VILLAGE is on its way.
Watch for news about the PTO Peppermint Village Christmas holiday store setting up for our students to shop, shop, shop for Christmas.
THANK YOU, SPRING CREEK OF BURLESON!!
The Sounds of the Season Fill the Air
Next week during our lunch times, different students will be participating in the Christmas Cafe'. This is an opportunity for students to play a piece of Christmas music with Mrs Griffin accompanying while classmates are eating lunch. We are looking forward to hearing our talented students who have chosen piano for Studio Time on Mondays to play for the public. If your child is participating, please make sure to try to attend during their lunchtime on the designated day.
How Are You Supporting Your Child's Reading Progress?
Do you know what level your child is on?
Do you know what level your child should/could be on ?
Do you know what it takes for you to help us get your child on or past that level?
As you plan for Christmas...
Consider books and other reading materials as presents.
Consider decorating your home with Christmas books.
Consider computer programs that support reading improvement.
Consider playing music during some down time in your home or even while you're reading to your child.
Consider presents that support our efforts to integrate the arts into our students lives.
