LETTER FROM THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents,
With Governor Cooper's news that at-home remote learning continues until May 22nd, we need your continued parental support. Your child’s teacher diligently posts daily online assignments (Google Classroom, Google Meet, SeeSaw) and has created a paper-and-pencil I-Ready educational packet for students lacking internet access.
Information on returning completed packets and chromebooks is forthcoming. Please continue to encourage your child(ren) to work at their very best!
If you need an educational packet from school, please call 671-6025. Also, remember to vote for your favorite “Masked Singer” teacher on our school Facebook page!
This is definitely unchartered territory, but our Piney Grove community is resilient. We miss and love your child(ren) and are saddened that they will not return to us this school year.
Thank you for your dedication to your child’s education! Please stay home and don't roam but most importantly, STAY SAFE!
Sincerely,
Aaron Locklear
Assistant Principal

6th Grade has been very busy working on informational text. Many students during all their free time are either watching tv or playing video games. So this week, we incorporated a lesson on the history of television. Students were asked to cite textual evidence and identify the structure of the text using sticky notes through the Google Slides Presentation that is used weekly. It is always great to use the first few minutes to check up with the students and see how their time at home is going. Next week, we are going to pull in some Social Studies curriculum to incorporate into our ELA learning.
