Field trip to Lansing!

The trip is scheduled for tomorrow: Wednesday, June 1st. We will be leaving the school BEFORE school starts, so students must arrive promptly at 7:45 am. We will return in time for regular dismissal. ALL students will ride the bus to and from Lansing.

Please pack a sack lunch with disposable contents (glass is prohibited).

Please note the time change from 7:30 to 7:45 for student arrival. This is due to our tour being scheduled 30 minutes later than usual.

End of 4th Grade Celebration!

Our celebration this year will be in the form of a PARENTS vs. 4th GRADERS kickball game and family picnic!

Please use this sign up genius link to read about the details and to see how you can contribute!

The last lesson of Chapter 12 took much longer than anticipated, thus, I am rescheduling our chapter assessment to allow for extra practice time.

Please remember, I welcome fix ups of all assignments and highly encourage students to resubmit math workbook pages for a better grade. This not only boosts their math grade, but helps solidify challenging core math concepts.

Math Facts

Math facts are an important tool that help us become more efficient in our math practice. Please continue to study math facts on a regular basis. Using old quizzes that come home in the Data Binder are a great way to start!

Regions of the United States

The regions presentations were fantastic! I hope you child was able to log into their Google account to show you their group's hard work!

I have heard some really great things about our newest group read: The One and Only Ivan. Please ask your child to summarize what we have read so far!

Accelerated Reader (AR)

With only 3 full weeks left of the school year, this limits the amount of time left to reach AR goals! Since report cards will be going home with children on the last day of school, AR goals are DUE Friday, June 10th. Please help me encourage your child to meet their individual reading goal this marking period!

Children should be reading every night, as assigned in the weekly homework packet.

There are thousands of AR titles available for AR quizzes. If you are not sure if a book you have at home is an AR book please visit

They should be bringing their AR books home every night and bringing them back to school each day. If your child is forgetful, it is perfectly acceptable to read one AR book at home and another at school.

Library books are welcome to go home, but I do prefer my classroom collection stays in the classroom (I will make exceptions if there is a prior arrangement).

Please find a routine that works for you and your student.

Data Binders

Please have your child review their Data Binder with you, reflect on last week with them, and set some new goals!

They have a fresh, Quarter 4 AR goal and their week 2 progress has been recorded!
