Ripon Cathedral School Update
Week ending Friday 27th November 2020
Working together!
Terrific Teamwork
We are particularly impressed with the captains' thoughts about the sports personalities who inspire and motivate them!
All the children across the school enjoyed the worship and we thought it would be good to share their efforts with our whole school family.
Well done Sports Captains!
Tudor Houses and fabulous flags
Well done Year 2, keep up the super effort.
Money and Work
Thank you.

School Update
It has been lovely to welcome our Year 3 children back to school this week. We really missed them and it is so good to have everyone back in school again. During their time on remote learning I did meet daily with the class for worship and these sessions did help to remind us all how important community and interaction is at this time.
It is pleasing to see that the number of cases of COVID has significantly dropped in our area to now be below the national average. Next week we return to a tiered system with renewed guidance and expectations. In school, little will change and we will maintain systems that we have in place to help protect everyone in our school family.
We do ask that parents continue to wear face coverings whilst on the school site and ensure that they leave the premises as soon as they have picked up or dropped off their child. Can we please also remind parents that they should inform the class teacher if anyone different will be collecting their child.
Thank you for your ongoing support
Kind regards
Steven Holmes
Headteacher
Christmas Celebrations
We have had to consider the way in which children bring Christmas cards into school for their friends. Rather than say no altogether, we hope you will understand that we would like the children to bring cards only for the children in their class.
The last day to bring in cards is Monday 14th December. They will be left in a box to 'quarantine' and will be distributed to bring home on the last day of term.
These are some dates for some of the events we've planned for the end of term:
Wednesday 9th December - Christmas Dinner (TBC, details to follow)
Friday 11th December - Christmas Jumper and Craft Day
Monday 14th December - Last day to bring in class Christmas cards, also Friends' raffle draws
Tuesday 15th December - Christmas Journey - RE curriculum day
Thursday 17th December - Our Year 2 Nativity will be shared (via YouTube)
Friday 18th December - last day of term - SCHOOL CLOSES AT USUAL TIMES FOR ALL CLASSES
Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd December - Christmas celebrations in Oscar's holiday club - booking essential - details below
Tuesday 5th January 2021 - School reopens to children for the spring term
Christmas at Oscar's! Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd December
A few spaces remain in our Christmas holiday club so to guarantee your place, please book now! Follow the link below, thank you.
If you require childcare and do not already have logon details for the online booking site, please email admin@riponcathedral.n-yorks.sch.uk Thank you.

This year we are asking that ALL donations are brought in on Friday 4th December during school morning drop off, please no donations before or after this day. There will be a box by each class's door, pop your donation in the box and the Friends will sort and isolate all the donations ready to be made into hampers for our raffle.

Year 1: Pamper
Year 2: Toys
Years 3: Best of British
