Skating at Brewer Arena
I just wanted to send home a quick note regarding our upcoming dates at Brewer Arena for skating. We have 3 dates scheduled:
- Tuesday, January 27
- Tuesday, February 3
- Tuesday, February 10
We will start walking over to Brewer following the second nutrition break at 1:50PM. We will return to school at 3:20, just in time for the regular end of day dismissal.
I have received a few permission forms back, and so far only have 1 parent volunteer. We will require a minimum of 3 more volunteers per date to move forward with these excursions. It's especially important with skating to have lots of volunteers as tieing up skates and checking helmets can be extremely time consuming.
On that note, students are required to wear helmets during skating. Please ensure these are helmets that are safe and suitable for your child. If you require a helmet, we may be able to make arrangements to get one for your child to borrow, please just let me know ASAP.
We will also be heading to the canal during a few upcoming Friday's. The dates are still tentative and more information will follow.
Thanks for your ongoing support!
PS. Tomorrow is the last swimming day at Brewer. It's been such a fantastic time, and I hope your child has expressed their enjoyment for it as well!
As part of our current unit of study on 2D shapes, the boys play a game of Shape Shut Out!

This unique workshop will provide parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, coaches, and educators with the essential skills to help foster emotional growth and resiliency in children.
This three-hour workshop will provide some basic theory in emotion coaching and lots of opportunity for hands on learning. Everyone will leave with new skills to help better support and connect with the children in their lives.
A quote from parents: “Emotion coaching has helped us connect better with our son. It made us feel better about what we were doing as parents. Our coaching allowed him to feel understood, reduced his emotional outbursts, and increased his emotional awareness.”
