Dear 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Grade Parent(s):

Ride's annual Field Day is quickly approaching. Field Day will occur outdoors in the morning. Your child should wear tennis shoes, apply sunscreen, and bring a labeled water bottle.

Each student will be paired with a “buddy.” The buddies will work together to complete various cooperative, competitive, and active events. Students are free to rotate to the events of their choice.

In order for Field Day to be successful, we need your help. Due to the high number of activities, sixty volunteers will be needed to assist us with running the events for the entire school. No spectators please! If you are committed to helping, please sign up online at https://tinyurl.com/RideFieldDay . Further volunteer information will be communicated via email, including event descriptions, recommended supplies, volunteer check-in procedures, and other pertinent details.

Thank you, Bridget Hodge and Laura Matthews

What We're Learning

Reading: We are learning all about PERSUASIVE TEXTS in reading! We are working on reading understanding the purpose of persuasive texts and how to use what we learn in our writing.

In writing, we are focusing on persuasive and opinion writing! We have been writing many persuasive letters in class. Ask your kiddo if they have written a letter to you!

In Math, we are learning all about Addition and Subtraction! We are moving to adding and subtracting 3-digit numbers with and without regrouping.

In Science, we are learning all about about animal adaptations. We have learned about some really cool adaptations that animals have that help them survive in their habitats.

Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming soon! There will be a book fair preview at the Bike Rodeo on April 7th at 5:00. If you would like to contribute to your student's teacher e-wallet to buy books for the classroom, click their link below!

During the week, the Book Fair is open from 7:30 – 3:00.

We have a great digital payment option that is highly encouraged for students to use. Parents can set up an eWallet for students, deposit money into it, and students will not have to bring money to school. Visit our Book Fair homepage at

to open up an eWallet account for your child. Any left over money in the eWallet will be put on a gift card for your student to use at future fairs or online. If you have money left over from the last book fair, you can sign in to your e-wallet and transfer the money to this book fair. Students can also bring cash or check during the week to purchase books!

Profits from the Book Fair will be used to purchase books for our school library!
