Principal's Message
Kia ora,
After listening to the government announcements over the last couple of days it appears that the Government is waiting to get more information on where the Covid outbreaks are before making a decision on what happens next. We will be back in touch once we hear the details of what is planned so we can let you know our plan.
Our staff has been preparing for full-on distance learning for some time and they are ready to roll this out to you if needed. We have also put preparations in place if we move to Level 3 and need to run a bubble at school to accommodate just those children who have parents working in essential services. If the decision is made to extend into Alert 3 we are ready. If we move to Level 3 we will be sending a google form out so parents who need to can indicate that they need to send their child to school because they are an essential worker. If this is you, we will ask you to indicate what days you will need to send your child to school.
Your teachers will be getting in touch (via email/class blogs/through the usual channel) soon.
Take care and please enjoy an unexpected mid-term break.
Lord Jesus Christ,
you taught us to love our neighbour,
and to care for those in need
as if we were caring for you.
In this time of anxiety, give us strength
to comfort the fearful, to tend the sick,
and to assure the isolated
of our love, and your love,
for your name’s sake.
Amen.
Nga mihi nui.
David Macmillan,
Principal.
Surveys
This is your last chance to help us to review some things we do by providing us with your feedback. The surveys will be closed off tomorrow at 5pm. The surveys are both quick to complete.

Message from DRS Bernie Hall
Students began learning about the Assumption this week and our Assumption Liturgy was going to be today - hopefully we can have that Liturgy at another time soon. The Assumption is celebrated every year on August 15th. The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary commemorates the death of Mary and her bodily assumption into Heaven, before her body could begin to decay—a foretaste of our own bodily resurrection at the end of time. Because it signifies the Blessed Virgin's passing into eternal life, it is the most important of all Marian feasts as well as being a Holy Day of Obligation.
Our next school Mass is the Nativity of Mary on the 10th September. This of course depends on the Covid situation closer to the time. Mark this date as it will also be our annual Grandparents Day celebration. New students and their families to the school will be welcomed at this Mass.
We had planned some parent information meetings to be held today. We hope to be able to reschedule these. Further details to follow in due course.
