Describe your favorite teacher growing up.
My favorite teacher was my kindergarten teacher because she made us feel very loved, valued, and very special. She was very encouraging, and she has always believed in me even when I didn’t have confidence in myself. It didn’t matter if I were her student at that time or not.
What was your favorite subject in school?
Why did you choose education as a career choice?
My kindergarten teacher and high school business teacher were the influences.
What does success look like in your classroom?
Students are having fun and learning.
What is your favorite "teaching moment?"
Last year, my students wrote teacher appreciation letters to staff members. I received a letter from a student that said that he enjoyed my class, had a kindred spirit with me, and loved having me as his oral reading coach. Also, I had a student write an essay about myself listing me as her favorite teacher and special person. She told me I made her feel as awesome. It made me realize that I had the same impact that my kindergarten teacher had on me.

I love the kindness and welcoming atmosphere.
