Health and Safety Reminders
As we get ready to begin the last month of the school year, I ask that we continue to work together in regards to health and safety practices that has allowed us to remain open for our students. Community cases appear to be rising and we must stay vigilant in keeping our school healthy and safe. If you or your child are an identified close contact or are getting tested for COVID-19, please notify the school as soon as possible. Our students are required to stay home for the full 10-day quarantine period after the date of exposure even with a negative COVID-19 test result. WE will work with each individual family so that learning can continue remotely during this quarantine time.
Please adhere to the 3 Core Mitigating COVID-19 practices which are: 1) Stay home if you are not feeling well, 2) correct mask wearing, and 3) persistent hand washing. If your child is feeling sick, please keep them at home. They should be symptom free for 24 hours, without medication, before they return. If a student is sent home from school, they will need to quarantine for 10 days or have a negative COVID19 test result with a doctors note indicating when they are able to return.
If you are traveling off island, please quarantine for the 10 days OR provide a negative COVID test prior to your return to school.
Thank you for your continued efforts in taking care of ourselves and each other.

FACULTY FEATURE: Meet two of our amazing Preschool Teachers
We are Ms. T. and Ms. C.
We have worked together at Wheeler Elementary for 5 years.
We have been teachers for 15 and 13 years respectively. We both are certified to teach special education and general education but have only taught special education.
Ms T. (on the left) is the Pre-School Grade Level Chair and likes to dress up and decorate for holidays while Ms. C. (on the right) likes to plan outings and field trips. We are a good team that loves working with our youngest students.
