Hello BSD families!
Whew! Yesterday was quite the day! We want to give a shout-out to our teachers and staff throughout the district for taking quick action to make sure all of our students were safe during the very unusual and surprising tornado warning.
We know the day was unsettling and scary for some of our students, especially older students who may have gotten the alert on their mobile phones. In addition to keeping all students safe, it was a priority to provide comfort and reassurance to students during and after yesterday's weather event.
Just a reminder: the best place to look for information when we are dealing with these types of situations is the District website(s) and Facebook page as we will post updates on these two platforms immediately. We may also send parent communication via email, text and/or “robo call” but the system can take time to get messages out (especially robo calls) so we post information on our website(s) and Facebook first so it is available as soon as we have it!
Thank you all for your patience and support yesterday as we navigated through one of the most unusual weather events we’ve had in our District--and our community--in some time!
Reminder: No school tomorrow (November 11) for Veterans Day
Fall 2021 Family-School Relationship Survey
Growing our students’ social-emotional learning (“SEL”) skills is an important goal for our district. As part of these activities, we survey students, families and staff twice a year to learn about students’ self-perceptions, better understand student experiences in their learning environment, and identify opportunities to enhance support of teachers and counselors. These survey results help shape the district's approach to our SEL programs.
We invite you to take a few moments to complete our Fall 2021 Family-School Relationship Survey.
- The survey will be open from November 8-21, 2021.
- If you have students in more than one school, you are welcome to take the survey for each school.
- If you are a community member, please take the survey for the school at which you have volunteered or with which you have had experience.
- The survey can be taken on a computer, tablet or smart phone, or on your student's District-issued Chromebook.
- The survey should take no more than 15-20 minutes.
- Please note: Some of the questions are not totally relevant in our current environment. The survey is a national survey that we adopt locally. While we are not able to adjust all of the questions, we appreciate your input and honest responses.
Thank you so much for your time and support of the Bremerton School District. Please visit our website for links to each school's survey!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
We appreciate all of the thoughts shared with us in our recent "ThoughtExchange" survey as we consider changes to our calendar and schedule of learning. We will be sharing survey highlights in the coming weeks! We appreciate your time - and thoughts!
