Head of School Weekly Update
May 17, 2019
Westminster family,
It’s hard to believe we are nearing the completion of another great school year. This will be the last Head of School Weekly Update for the 2018-2019 school year.
Graduation will be held Monday night (the 20th) in the North Hall of the Von Braun Center beginning at 6:00. Please be aware that Madison City Schools will be holding commencement ceremonies that day as well so parking will be difficult. This is such a special time in the life of the school. It has been a joy to watch this senior class on their journey through Westminster. They are a close group, distinct in personality, yet united in spirit. They have accomplished much in every area of their education experience at Westminster. Thank you, parents, for sharing them with us.
This past week Kindergarten and K4 held their end of the year programs. Both programs were outstanding. They were a vivid depiction of how much these young people are being shaped not only academically, but from a biblical worldview, even at this young age. We have a phenomenal team of adults educating, nurturing, and loving these children. It’s not by coincidence that I’m mentioning these two programs on the heels of discussing the Senior Class of 2019. As the Apostle instructs all of us in Ephesians 5:17 to ‘redeem the time’, we will blink our eyes and these guys will be walking across the stage at the VBC. I don’t say that to incite sadness, but instead to remind all of us of how precious this time with each of them is indeed.
Monday was Middle school awards day at Upper. As with all of the end of the year programs, we cherish being able to share in the accomplishments of our students with you, their families. Thank you for your support and participation in these special times.
At our Upper Campus Chapel this week we were treated to two missionaries who are building a Christian school in Nepal. It was an excellent way to illuminate how God is at work everywhere and also a reminder that life is much bigger than just what affects us individually.
I would like to again take the time to thank our PAW board, and the PAW team (which is all of you parents) for all of the ways you have contributed to the success of this school year. PAW does many things behind the scenes to advance programs, support teachers, and improve our school. This year PAW decorated for numerous events at both upper and lower, organized and counted box tops and bottle caps, planned and executed teacher appreciation week, fed our teachers many times, planned the End of Year Bash (which unfortunately had to be canceled due to weather), and served our school in various other ways. Because of your generosity and the generosity of our PAW sponsors, the PAW board recently voted to make a monetary donation to the school to enhance security. We are grateful for all that they have done and will do in the future.
Our PAW sponsors include:
Capstone Reality - Megan Wilson, Realtor
Pediatric Dentistry of Madison
Wolde Flooring/Countertops/Kitchen/Bath

As we move to the summer, it is our prayer that you and your students have a wonderful break. Thank you for your investment in Westminster. You and your children are what make this such a special place.
Love you and God Bless,
Stephen
