Houston Astros Day! Tuesday, October 22

As the Astros head into the World Series on Tuesday with game 1, BBI will show support by wearing Astros gear! Show your spirit for our Houston Astros; wear your Astros shirts, jerseys, and ball caps.


  • Drop off for EMCC ends at 7:15 a.m.
  • No one is at the gate to receive EMCC children after 7:15 a.m.
  • For your child's safety, use the car rider line after 7:15 a.m.

6th grade BOYS' Pre Athletic Basketball Tournament

Thursday, Oct. 24th, 4pm

Due to the large number of 6th grade boys involved in pre-athletic basketball, the tournament will be held at BBJH beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Parking is in the rear of the junior high school.

On Fridays, WE WEAR BLUE to encourage kindness and put an end to bullying!

How long have you been at BBI? 26 years in MISD

Where are you from and where did you grow up? Born in McAllen, Texas, Grew up and graduated in Montgomery, TX

What inspired you to work with children? Since I was a young child I would pretend to teach. I would set my stuffed animals up and teach them a lesson. I loved anything that had to do with school and being around children.

What is your favorite book? Polar Express

What was your favorite subject in school? Math

If you could learn to do one thing, what would it be? Scuba dive or fly an airplane

If you could have any other career, what would it be? Pilot

Who do you consider your hero? Police officers and firefighters who put their lives on the line every day to help people.

People would be surprised to know… I love to scrapbook. I attend weekend retreats several times a year and will scrapbook around 100 pages in my albums.

22 student art pieces from each grade level will be selected to participate in the Magnolia ISD District Art Show in January.

6th grade: Please join Ms. Foux on Wednesday mornings (October 16, 23, 30 & November 6, 13, 20) at 7:20 a.m.

5th grade: Please join Ms. Ratliff on Friday mornings (October 18, 25 & November 1, 8, 15, 22) at 7:20 a.m.

Students have been engaging in discussions and activities surrounding character traits like commitment, kindness, patience, and others. They are challenged with "character dares" each week to help stretch their understanding of the trait and put it into action.

How long have you been at BBI? This is my first year!

Where are you from and where did you grow up? Born in Houston and grew up in Aldine

What inspired you to work with children? Volunteering at my kids school and seeing and witnessing the connections teachers and staff have with the students.

What is your favorite book? Two by Two

What was your favorite subject in school? Science

If you could learn to one thing, what would it be? Fly a plane

If you could have any other career, what would it be? I would have to say a large animal veterinarian. ( Cattle, horses, pigs, goats) All of the farm animals.

Who do you consider your hero? Hands down my Aunt Christy. She has dealt with so many tough situations in her life and she has always kept her head up and stayed positive.

People would be surprised to know…Grew up showing livestock. But my most favorite to show was pigs!

BBIS General Information

Our doors open each morning at 7:20 a.m. Students may exit vehicles once the doors open and can walk along the sidewalk that runs parallel to the front of the school building.

Early morning child care begins at 6:30 a.m. and all students must be enrolled online through the MISD website.

The first bell rings at 7:55 a.m. and the tardy bell rings at 8:00 a.m. The instructional day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:10 p.m.
