School Report Card - Exceeds Expectations!!
What an amazing start to the school year so far! As a learning community, we strive to provide the best possible educational experience for each student. One measure we use to reflect on our areas of strength and areas in need of improvement is the School Report Card.
The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) generates a School Report Card and District Report Card for every publicly funded school and district in the state. These public report cards can be found online at: http://dpi.wi.gov/accountability/report-cards. The report cards include data on multiple indicators for multiple years across four unique priority areas: student achievement, student growth, closing gaps, and on-track toward graduation and post-secondary success. In addition, the report card also measures chronic absenteeism and dropout rates. A school or district's overall accountability score places the school or district into one of five overall accountability rating categories:
Accountability Rating Category and Score Ranges:
Significantly Exceeds Expectations: 83-100
Exceeds Expectations: 73-82.9
Meets Expectations: 63-72.9
Meets Few Expectations: 53-62.9
Fails to Meet Expectations: 0-52.9
Here are some highlights that I’d like to share from our School Report Card:
- School Growth: We received 67.0 points for growth this year as compared to 54 points last year
- Closing Gaps: We received 68.9 points in the priority area of Closing Gaps this year as compared to 59 points last year.
Over the past three years, we have steadily improved our overall score from 71.9, Meets Expectations in 2015-16 to 82.7, Exceeds Expectations this past year. I believe these results indicate the commitment and focus of our teachers and staff.
The School Report Card is just one measure of a school’s performance and what I love most about our teachers and staff at Washington is that although we feel fortunate to have increased over the past three years, there is still a collective desire to keep growing and learning. We are also proud of all of the support our parent community offers to Washington throughout the year. We wouldn’t be able to succeed without you!

It just takes a few simple steps to get set up and you will have access to daily menus, nutritional and allergen information, and so much more.
