FBC Shawnee Food Pantry Garden
Our food pantry garden is located off Johnson Drive and Flint Street right across from Wonderscope. Several North area families already interact with our garden--eagle scout projects, and families from your school both volunteer with us and have rented plots with us to grow their own food. The other community interaction that are garden has besides teaching about urban gardening and community service is that we like to donate all of our grown produce to local families who need it. We do not require any complicated application or screening process or any attendance at religious events. This is a free program and opportunity that volunteers and members of our own community have made possible.
This is our garden's facebook page where we organize our workdays and keep volunteers up to date on garden happenings https://www.facebook.com/groups/1527514074220801/. And we have a simple online form that can be completed by those wanting to receive our food boxes. https://www.fbcshawnee.com/ministries/community-garden/
Our early harvest will begin in the next 2-3 weeks and we would love to have 15 to 20 applicants by then. If you have any other questions or would like more information about the program please feel free to contact me.
