DPS music programs excel at assessment
On Wednesday, March 8, the George Washington High School and Bonner/Westwood orchestras traveled to the University of Lynchburg to participate in the District VI Orchestra Assessment. Both orchestras, under the direction of Mrs. Frenita Griffin, received a superior rating, the highest rating, after performing and sight reading.
GWHS is also hosting the District Vi Band Assessment from Thursday to Saturday, the first time in many years GW has done so. The GW Wind Ensemble performed Thursday under the direction of Mr. Cody Kesling and received a superior rating. Under the direction of Mr. Kameron Walker, the Bonner Honor Band took the stage on Thursday as well and received an excellent rating.
Westwood's Honor Band will take the stage on Saturday, March 11 at 11 a.m. in GW's Auditorium.
Congratulations to our students and our music educators!
