Fall Parade
Quakertown Elementary School would like to have a Fall Parade celebrating Halloween again this year and we are inviting our students to bring their Halloween costumes on Monday, October 31, 2022, which is also a day that classrooms will be holding their fall parties. The following schedule will be in place that day:
9:20 PM - 2:00 PM Regular academic schedule
2:00 PM - 2:30 PM Students will change into their costumes
2:30 PM - 3:00 PM Students and faculty parade on the sidewalks surrounding QE
3:00 PM - 3:45 PM Fall parties in classrooms (more information to come from your
child’s teacher)
3:50 PM Regular dismissal
For the parade route, we will leave QE from the bus lane doors and turn right on the sidewalk toward 6th Street. We will turn right onto 6th Street, then turn right onto Park Avenue, and then finally right onto 7th Street. The parade route will end on the playground blacktop, where students will line up on the perimeter where they can catch a glimpse of the other classes as they walk by. We encourage parents to gather along the parade route for photos to get a chance to see the costumes, but please do not join the parade itself.
On the day of the parade, please have your child bring their costume in bags with their names on them. Students will not be permitted to wear costumes between arrival and 2:00 PM. Since children will be changing into their costumes at school, it would be appreciated if costumes fit over school clothes to minimize the time and effort needed to change. Additional faculty members will be available to assist with costume changes. Appropriate costume masks will be permitted to be worn once students are outside the building.
Our school district and our school are always concerned about safety so we ask for your cooperation by providing a costume that does not encourage or focus on violence. As per the Student Code of Conduct, weapons, or replicas of them, are not permitted as part of your child’s costume and should not be brought into school.
Students, who for religious reasons do not celebrate Halloween, will be invited to stay in the library with supervision during the costume changing time and parade to play games. Students not participating in the parade will be invited back into the classroom for their party at 3:00 PM.
Thanks for your help in making sure this is a successful and fun day for our students!
