Heart Screening for 2016-17 Freshman

Friday, May 20th, 8am

16302 Texas 493 Loop

Lubbock, TX

Lubbock-Cooper ISD cares about our students’ heart health, so we are partnering with "Who We Play For" to screen athletes with an ECG (electrocardiogram). An ECG, also known as an EKG, can detect issues in the heart that can be missed in a standard physical. Please be sure to show up for this important screening.

Every student must have a signed consent form to participate. Your child can get a consent form from Coach Hopkins and Coach Davis. The screening will be in the Field House on Friday, May 20 during athletic, band and cheerleading periods.

Our tutoring will offer students individualized instruction so that they can be successful on their state assessment. Please ensure that your student is attending these after-school sessions. Bus transportation will be provided.

Spring Final Exams

Our students will be taking Spring Semester Exams the week of May 23. Your child will be taking exams in all classes. The semester final exam will be a percentage of the final year grade for your child's classes. We will have two early dismissal days (May 25 and May 26) and will be testing on these two days as well, so plan accordingly. Students will have to make up missed exams due to an absence on Tuesday, May 31 and Wednesday, June 1.

Summer School Information

Summer School is just around to the corner and I will need parents to plan accordingly. We will begin to pull student's previous STAAR scores, unit assessments and final year grade in core course to determine if your child will need to attend summer school. Our summer school program will offer small group individualized instruction to close the learning gaps. Our summer school program will provide that extra attention your child needs to strengthen areas of math and reading. Please be looking for summer school letters to be mailed and plan accordingly.
