What's Buzzin' at Bryant

A Message from Mrs. Johnson

Hello Bryant families,

I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend.

As we return to school on Tuesday, we still may be experiencing some wet weather. Some of our little bees have been coming to school underdressed. To ensure your little one is comfortable while at school, please be sure to have them wear a jacket and appropriate shoes. Long pants are preferred. Let's make sure our little bees are nice and warm on the wet days.

We are experiencing an increase in reports of students testing positive for COVID-19. Let's be sure to protect ourselves and others. If your child is not feeling well or is experiencing any COVID like symptoms, it is much safer to keep them at home until they are free of symptoms and feeling better. If your child begins to show signs of not feeling well including but not limited to having a fever, vomiting, or excessive coughing while at school, you may be asked to come pick them up from school. It has always been RUSDs expectation that parents do not attempt to medigate symptoms by giving the child medication and sending them to school. The medication will eventually wear off and your child will begin to have a very uncomfortable day at which time you will be called to pick them up. If you are in need of a COVID-19 test for your child, please contact the front office. We will be happy to provide you with one. Thank you so much for your consideration of the entire school community.

Lastly, Friday, January 20th is the 100th day of school. I can't believe it. Let's see all of our little bees age to be 100 years old. Hair curlers, gray hair, mustaches, etc. Be creative. I can't wait to see everyone all dressed up.

As always, Bee Fantastic, Bee Great, Bee the Difference! Have a great week!

A Bryant Bee has made it to Sacramento!

Let's send a congratulations to Ms. Marleigh O'Farrell. Marleigh went to Sacramento Capitol to learn about our state legislators, the power of voting and how policy is made. She toured the Senate floor with Senator Roth, met with new Assembly member Dr. Corey Jackson, and Assembly member Sabrina Cervantes one of the youngest members. She came with questions and ideas being a great example of a Bryant Bee. Great job Marleigh on representing yourself, your family, Bryant, and RUSD with grace, maturity, and professionalism. What an awesome experience.

Attendance Matters!

Congratulations to Mrs. Carranza and her super students for having the highest attendance percentage for the week. Thank you so much to all the parents for making sure the students are at school on time everday ready to learn.

Attention all 6th grade parents

We are so excited that our students will once again have the opportunity to attend Science Camp. As we begin the preparation process, we will be holding two parent meeting sessions. One will be in person and the other will be virtual. All 6th grade parents are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to attend one of the two sessions. Please see the meeting info on the flyer below.

H.E.A.R.T.S. has Heart!

We are so proud of our HEARTS program. Mr. Carlson and his team are working so hard to provide our students with an experience that is engaging and fun for the students. Bryant continues to experience an extremely high attendance rate during HEARTS! This is fantastic. Thank you so much to our afterschool program team for their efforts. Keep up the great work!

Core Virtue for the month of January - COURAGE

Courage is the ability to control fear and to be willing to deal with something that is dangerous, difficult, or unpleasant. We are faced with situations on a daily basis that may create some fear or uncertainty within us. Showing courage is to demonstrate the ability to overcome that fear and to do what is right.

Time is Running out!

We are nearing the end of our yearbook sales. Please don't miss out on the chance to purchase a 22-23 yearbook. The presale price of $25 for yearbooks will end February 3, 2023. After February 3rd, yearbooks will be sold for $30. Only a certain number of yearbooks have been ordered. They will be available until they are sold out.
