Fall is such a busy time for our families, but please take a minute to join SMS PTA. Thank you to those of you who have already become a member. We are still 100 members short of our goal and are trying to wrap up our fall membership drive by September 26. If you are not sure if you have joined or not, just check your previous orders at the top of the membership page after you have logged on. For those who bought school supplies in the spring, memberships for this year were NOT for sale then.

Picture Day

Students will be taking school pictures on Friday, September 30th during their science class. Dress your best and smile big!

We’ve got spirit, yes we do! SMS students… How about you??? Our first “Say Good-Bye to Summer” Spirit Week is wrapping up and we've loved seeing all of the students showing their spirit!

PTA Parent Program

Your PTA is proud to present this amazing parent program for you! Join us at one of the two presentations to learn about the latest in cyber-safety from one of the nation's leading experts. Please remember that those attending must be at least 18 years of age. Schimelpfenig students will have their own program during school on September 27th.

Career Day is Coming! We need you!

Schimelpfenig Middle School is planning its Eleventh Annual Career Day for Friday, November 11, 2016. We are looking for parents of 8th grade students who would like to come to school and talk about their careers in grade 8 Science or US History classes. The purpose of this program is to give our students a better idea of the world of work as well as an understanding of some of the different choices that will be available to them as they plan for their future. Clark Cougarettes Annual Kitty Clinic

The Clark Cougarettes will be hosting their annual Kitty Clinic on Saturday, October 15th from 9am-2pm. This dance clinic will be for ages K-9. They will be learning dances, playing games, and lunch is included! Also, students will have an opportunity to perform at a Clark Football Game this year and we are very excited about that. Please see the flyer for additional information. We hope to see lots of our feeder kiddos there!!

Calling all dancers Grades K-8! 9th and 10th graders are also welcome to learn technique and a combination to prepare them for Planoette tryouts! You may have already had the chance to participate in last year’s Planoettes Mini Camp and now you will have the chance to do it again at this year’s camp and Plano Wildcat Football Game!


Grab your friends for a fun-filled day of dance with the Planoettes as your teachers! You will have the opportunity to perform with the Planoettes at the Plano vs. McKinney Boyd game on October 21st at Kimbrough Stadium.

Art Contest!

Attention all Schimelpfenig artists! The first Art contest opportunity of the year is the 2016 Fire Prevention Poster contest. This year’s theme is “Don’t Wait, Check The Date: Replace Smoke Alarms Every 10 Years” and entry forms and contest rules are available in the Art room (F205). Grand Prize Schimelpfenig winners will be automatically entered in the City of Plano poster contest. Artwork and completed entry forms are due to Ms. Q in the Art room, by Monday, October 10th.

STUCO Meeting
