Welcome!
I hope your summer is going well and you are able to enjoy some fun and relaxing time with family. After having some time off this summer I am back in the office and eager to start the new school year! We have had a busy summer at the preschool with extended school year services happening, the building being thoroughly cleaned and floors waxed and of course, we hired an Interim Early Childhood Coordinator to take over my role when I leave. Shelley and I have already been working together to ensure a smooth transition. I am eager for you to meet her!
I am sure you have some questions regarding back to school and hopefully I can answer most of those in our newsletters. If not, do not ever hesitate to reach out to me. I am always happy to talk with you.
When does preschool start and when will I know who my child's teacher is?
The first day of preschool is Wednesday, September 6th. You will receive a letter this week confirming your child's schedule and letting you know who their teacher is. Our secretary, Mrs.Crespi will also be reaching out to let you know if you have any outstanding paperwork, although she tells me we are in good shape there! Her email is crespis@cantonma.org.
Will I have an opportunity to visit with my child prior to the first day?
Yes! We cannot wait to have you visit. Our Open House will be on Tuesday, September 5th. Information regarding times will be included in the class placement letter.

Getting Ready for Preschool
Last, speak positively about going to school. If you are anxious, your child will be. Let them know how much fun they will have, the friends they will make and what a wonderful teacher they will have! It's absolutely normal for everyone to be a bit nervous and to acknowledge that. For some of you this is a brand new experience, but make sure there is an overall positive tone to your conversations about school.
Q & A
Yes! Please send in lunch if your child is not accessing school lunch. Nurse Bailey will reach out with any food restrictions due to allergies. Please no candy or soda.
Do I need to send a snack?
We provide snack so no need to send any in to school for your child.
Is it a problem if my child is not toilet trained?
Absolutely not! Just be sure to send in diapers/pullups and wipes. Your child's teacher will work with you when you are ready to start toilet training. While I won't go so far as to say we are experts at toilet training, we sure do have a lot of experience!
What does my child need to bring to school?
Themselves, a smile, and a back pack with extra clothes.
What is the best way to reach my child's teacher?
Email is the best way, however if you need to reach us immediately call our secretary, Susan Crespi at 781-821-5060 x 1503. She can get a message to any of us.
