The amount of time between the elementary bus routes and secondary bus routes needs to be expanded to ensure that all students can arrive at school at appropriate times in a safe manner. The length of the school day does not change, elementary students will start and end their day seven minutes earlier than the 2021-22 school year.
Read more abut the new school start times in this Cabinet Column by FPS Associate Superintendents Missy Eidsness and Dr. Bob Grosz.

Mental Health Factsheet
We all have days where we feel physically sore, have a headache or are extra tired. Mental health is similar - the occasional bad day is to be expected, but when things that used to be easy become a lot more difficult, something’s going on. Instead of focusing on physical symptoms, you’ll want to look at your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Fun With Shakespeare Students in Leah Ness' English class took the stage in the North High School theater to perform Act One, Scene One of "Romeo and Juliet." The groups were given the original script and were asked to analyze the language and rewrite the scene in modern words. The class held a masquerade while it read the scene where Romeo and Juliet meet at the Capulet feast. The students each created their own mask for the event in order to be fully immersed in the action of the tragedy. (Photo courtesy Leah Ness) | Fire Safety Members of the Fargo Fire Department visited Jefferson Elementary School to teach students from grades K-2 about fire trucks and fire safety. The students got an up close and personal look at the fire truck and learned what happens when the firefighters get called into action. | Earth Day Blooms Students in Lindsey Ferguson's class at Centennial Elementary School collected jars and cans for Earth Day. They decorated the cans and jars to be reused as vases for floral arrangements. They donated their decorated jars and cans to Hope Blooms, a nonprofit organization that provides hope and joy to others through flowers. Students and family members volunteered at Hope Blooms, helping cut string, label jars, prepare flower food, and tie tags onto jars. (Photo courtesy Lindsey Ferguson) |

Statistics Olympics As a final assessment and application of the content in Advanced Placement Statistics at North High School, students designed their own Olympic event, then had their peers complete the event. Once data was gathered, students analyzed the performances of everyone using the ideas covered throughout the school year. At the conclusion of presentations for each of the 39 events, a medal ceremony was held, awarding gold, silver, and bronze to the top performers. Events included standing high jump, non-dominant hand frisbee toss, and standing long jump.
