Principal's Corner
Dear Slate Hill Families,
We kicked off our theme, "Adventure Awaits at The Slate!" on Monday with our first all school assembly in our newly painted gym. We shared our building wide expectations and theme with our Slate Hill stars through a skit starring our new student, Jane (aka Mx. Kochensparger) and Mrs. Gulley to help our stars make connections to what our expectations and theme for the year. We also included a review of our expectation chant (led by our 5th grade team and Mrs. Loges). Ask your child to share this with you this week! We concluded our assembly with an awesome video that our students watched in their classrooms. Please take time to view our "Welcome to the Family of Slate Hill" video created by our amazing Librarian, Mx. Kochensparger. Here is the link: https://youtu.be/vEwKhQgAhOM
Please review these reminders about dismissal time.
- For students that live in front of Slate Hill, they are to exit door 13 and meet their parents on the other side of the crosswalk at the front of the building.
- For students that live in the back of Slate Hill, they are to exit door 8 and meet their parents at the large tree to walk home.
- For car pick up and drop off, please pull all the way down to far end of the sidewalk to load and unload students. Students are asked to exit toward the sidewalk not the parking lot.
- We ask that parents please follow the directions of the staff members on duty so that we can keep your child safe during arrival and dismissal.
Also each week I will share a Covid update that will let families know how many positive cases are at Slate Hill for the week. Last week we had 2 positive cases.
Thank you for partnering with us this year! We are excited to see our parents this week on Curriculum Night, September 1st! Please see the locations below.
