Who is she?
Ayn Rand was a Russian writer. She was born on February 2, 1905, and died on March 6, 1982. Rand grew up in Russia and lived in the United States and the Soviet Union. Some of her notable work was The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged.

Timeline
At the age of 9 Rand decided to become a writer, after teaching herself to read. In the year 1917 she witnessed her first shots of the revolution. The revolution and war were the reasons for her writing style. She studied history and philosophy at the University of Petrograd, graduating in the year 1924. In the process of becoming a writer Rand became an U.S. citizen in 1931. Her first book in English wasn't published until 1950.
