Tardies - High Numbers of Tardies impacting learning

Tardies- Have been a significant issue. They impact the student's ability to start class on time and receive valuable instruction, which can lead to impacted grades because of missed class work. The following is the Tardy Policy.

  • 5 tardies will be detention after school for 30 minutes
  • 10 tardies will be 60 minutes detention after school.
  • 15 tardies will be Saturday School
  • 20 tardies will result in a behavior contract, and a 60 day school activities suspension and 30 minutes of Campus Beautification assignment after school.
  • 25 tardies will result in a parent conference conference with potential suspension.

We ask that families ensure their students arrive at school on time. We hear that many students claim there is traffic as the main cause for lateness in the morning. We understand this issue, however when students are late to school, it impacts their learning and being able to be successful in school.

Student Chromebooks

Parents, we are finding that some students are not taking care of and/or securing their chromebooks. As I have circulated classrooms throughout the day, I have personally collected 4 chromebooks that students have left behind in classes. Students are responsible for their chromebook and must not lose them. If a student loses their chromebook, they are financially responsible for them and will be charged a $250 fine for this loss. We have a limited supply of spare chromebooks and cannot easily issue out new chromebooks easily. Please remind your students to maintain positive control of their chromebooks at all times.
