MRS. KEMP NAMED AZ IB CP TEACHER OF THE YEAR
Congratulations to Mrs. Courtney Kemp, the Arizona IB Schools Career Program Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Kemp works tirelessly to promote the IB Career Program, and her enthusiasm helps create a very inclusive, active learning environment. She teaches the core course for IB CP, Personal and Professional Skills, as well as IB Diploma Psychology.
BOOKENDS TOUR
CHS APAC/Company Theatre performed last week at CUSD elementary schools. They "acted out" their favorite childhood storybooks promoting a love of reading to K- 3rd graders. Bookends Fall 2019 Stories: Frog and Toad Together, Scooby Doo, Wemberly Worried, Horton Hears a Who, and Where the Wild Things Are.
WORLD LANGUAGE TRANSLATORS
Last week the CHS World Language Department sent 30 students to Galveston and Harford Elementary schools to translate for parent teacher conferences. These students connected with their community and demonstrated how language has the power to connect humans!
STUCO SPIRIT CONFERENCE
Student Council attended last week’s AASC Spirit Conference at Mountain View High School as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for this year’s theme “Team up for Leadership”. StuCo kicked off the year with other Arizona groups and learn new leadership techniques to bring back to CHS.
VARSITY FOOTBALL COMPETES IN NEVADA
The Wolves travel to Liberty High School in Henderson, NV this Saturday, September 8th, to compete in the Polynesian Football Classic. CHS will face Faith Lutheran High School at 4:30pm. Tickets are $16.25 for multiple games.

CHS Theatre's Production of Alice runs September 18-21. Follow Alice as she escapes her home to find adventure in a topsy-turvy world. Based on Lewis Carroll's classic tale, Alice brings you Wonderland as you've never seen it before. September 18: Special Preview performance with a Mad Tea Party beforehand, complete with fun treats and a character meet and greet. See below for information and tickets. September 19-21 performances are at 7:00pm in the Bogle Theater. Tickets are $8 in the CHS Bookstore or at the door.
