Letter from the Principal
Dear Tualatin Elementary Families,
We are grateful for a second great week of distance learning and in-person hybrid learning. Teachers and students have successfully settled into routines online and on the school campus following the transition since spring break. Students have been doing a great job doing their part to help keep themselves and classmates safe and healthy. Please continue to do your part at home by wearing masks when in public, distancing and regularly washing hands. We will continue this success if we work as a team within our community.
Please review the important dates for what’s coming up. Also, pay close attention to the messages that come from your child’s teacher. More information will be coming out as we prepare for our year-end activities in June. Over this challenging year, our families and staff have worked hard together and that makes for a lot to celebrate!
Our garden is in need of some extra support now that we are into spring. Look for how to sign up and help with watering, weeding or other items that help care for the garden--and always remember to harvest a few things to take home and enjoy. Thank you for your help with keeping our garden a great place for our school community.
Enjoy the weekend,
Mr. Kingery
Picture Day April 22!
Online and Pre-K students will sign up for an after-school appointment here.
All parents, please note:
- Students will not be wearing masks in their photos, unless you send a note that you want them to keep their masks on.
- There will not be a class composite photo this year
- We will not have a retake day at school
- CDL students will pick up their photos at the school
- If you are unable to make it that day, or you need a re-take, appointments will be set up directly through Dorien and will be at their studio in May.
- Online payments are preferred but we will have a limited number of order forms at the school that we can send home. Here is the link for online ordering.
Allergy Season is Upon Us!
Middle School Two Way Immersion (TWI) Information Night
We are actively recruiting 5th grade students into our middle school Two Way Immersion (TWI) program at Hazelbrook and Fowler. The only criteria -- the student is a rising 5th grader fluent in Spanish.
Interested students and parents are invited to attend the TWI Information Night at 5:50-6:30pm on April 28, 2021 to learn more and to ask any questions.

A Note from our Garden Committee
Dear Families,
Help our garden continue to be a vital part of our community.
We are excited that our classes will begin using the garden again for Class Meetings, recess and as part of their learning. Mr. Taylor will be available on Thursdays to help us.
Please consider making the garden a part of your children's lives within and outside of school. You can harvest food for your home, weed, compost, mow and otherwise help us maintain this amazing nature space. Sign up with your family to work on our Spring tasks. You can click on this link Garden Signup.
Contact Pam Soderquist (503-431-4760 or psoderquist@ttsd.k12.or.us) if you have any questions.
Have fun in the garden!
