Principal's Note
I hope that this newsletter finds you well. We are entering a very busy time of the year with many things going on both in and out of the classroom. One of the things that will be happening over the next two months is our state MCAS Testing. As you can see from the schedule below, we have a number of dates that we are using to complete the MCAS Testing. Our first round of testing will be held next week with our Grade 8 ELA Test. All other testing will take place after the April Break.
One important thing over these next few weeks is attendance. We would ask that students and families do all that they can to be present for MCAS Testing. We need our students present in order for them to compete the testing and fulfill the required participation rate. We appreciate you doing all that you can to support their attendance.
Thank you so much for your support and please have a wonderful weekend.
Enjoy the newsletter.
Sincerely,
Paul

Cellphones and other Electronic Devices
During any testing, cellphones and any of these other devices will be collected and kept at the front of the room. They will be returned once the testing session has been completed. Please take time to explain to your student that they need to adhere to the rules of testing. Again phones will be labeled and returned once the test session is complete. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at the MMS Main Office.
Thank you for your support.

TAPE A TEACHER TO THE WALL WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!
Congratulations to all the amazing readers!!
Here are the results of our Tape A Teacher event to cap off March Madness Read-a-thon:
Ms. Saccardo's homeroom beat Ms. Shockley's homeroom in a remarkably close showdown of 15,000 minutes (250 hours!) read (in 8 days!) to 14,000 minutes read. Ms. Saccardo's homeroom celebrated by taping her to the pole.
Our other top readers including Josie B—who read over 183 hours in the month of March!—got to tape Ms. Robinson.
Both teachers were absolutely great sports in this and were successfully held up to the poles by our students! Thank you to everyone involved and especially Ms. Saccardo and Ms. Robinson!
In the end, Millis Middle School logged over 200,000 minutes read in the month of March!
