Sudie News
November 7 - November 11, 2016
Principal's Prose
Alas all, November is upon us! The second week in the eleventh month of the year also marks the transition to the end of the first semester. According to our instructional calendars, we have twenty eight school days remaining before we all depart for winter break. Twenty eight days, wow! These first two marking periods have flown by, and the Year shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, the closer we get to the halfway mark, the URGENCY we have towards our expectations should be at an all time high. The results of what we have sewn into our students should be evident at each and every opportunity we present before them to shine. Again, with twenty eight days remaining, the time for intentional, and measured focus is not now, but right now!
In conjunction with our approach to another important mark in the school year, we will have the opportunity witness our country mark the election of a new President of the United States. Though I am not a political "pollster", something tells me that there will be a high degree of interest and participation in this year's election results. What an important, relevant and teachable moment for our students! As Sudie opens its doors to the local community to participate in the general election, all of our students will have an identical opportunity this week. These are exciting times for our country, and the results WILL impact what we do at Sudie, so let's be sure to teach our students to know that their votes, and voice matters!
Team, you ALL have my VOTE, and my full confidence in the work you do to elevate the lives of our students!
Make it another great week,
MJ
