Happy Sunday Westside Families! We hope you had as much fun as we did at our Title 1 Parent and Family Engagement Science Night last week! If you RSVP'd but were unable to attend, your child came home last week with learning activities. Also, our students LOVED the PBIS Bingo event on Thursday and 9 lucky students won grand prizes. Check out the gallery below for photos from both events! If you attended our FREE Fingerprinting Event, don't forget to let your child's teacher know you are willing to volunteer when clearance is issued. We'd love to have your help and support at school, on field trips, and evening events! Student Leadership Council Launches Mentor Program

The 5th & 6th Grade Student Leadership Council created a mentor program for students in K-3 to build stronger relationships between students. SLC members spend two days a week reading and playing games with K-3 buddies to get their days started on a positive note.

Title 1 Hosts Science Event

Our Title 1 team collaborated with Orlando Science Center to bring the world of curiosity to Westside last week. Explorers in 2nd-4th grade experienced a live show on “matter” called KABOOM! and 5th grade students engaged in STEM Challenges. At night, families enjoyed 20 hands-on activities and a free grab-n-go dinner.

Explorers Earn Schoolwide Bingo Event

Students had the opportunity to purchase a ticket with their hard-earned Compass Cash to our schoolwide, virtual BINGO event hosted by our PBIS program. Each student received a bingo card and a chance to win one of nine giveaway prizes including bikes, tablet, and drones! Winners of bingo rounds came to the Commons to choose from a HUGE assortment of prizes, and the smiles were endless. It was an event to remember!
