College GameDay Gala: Presented by Silverdale Baptist Academy - Join us for a fundraising blitz on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at The Colonnade in Ringgold, GA, themed around fall Saturdays in the South: the 2018 College GameDay Gala! From the silent auction filled with unique gift basket creations to all the passion and fanfare that the live auction brings, this is a tailgate your company or family won't want to miss!
As with all of our past fundraiser galas, a portion of the evening's profits goes to support our Student Scholarship Fund, providing financial assistance to families in need. The remainder of the funds raised during this evening will go towards the If Capital Campaign as we prepare to build The Silverdale Center. Whether you're passionate about the arts or athletics, there's something to get everyone excited about!
For just $50 each, purchase a chance to win $2,500 in tuition credit! Two credits will be given away at the gala for a total of $5,000 in tuition credit. There is no purchase limit, and they're only available while they last at both receptionist desks!
Complete details are online at silverdaleba.org/gala.
From the Desk of Mr. Freuler
Philippians 2:4 "Do not merely look out for your own personal interest, but also for the interest of others."
- Thank you for not being on your phones while driving on campus!
- Reminder to use only designated drop off and pick up locations. To do otherwise puts your child and other children at risk. It only takes a few minutes to do the right thing and keep everyone safe. The main upper school entrance is not a designated drop off or pick up location. It is to be reserved for students with mobility issues (crutches, walkers, wheelchairs) and those parking and walking their students into the building.
- If a car in front of you is not moving, be patient. They may have a little person crossing in front of them. Don't drive around them! This is the cause of one of the most common accidents on campus.
- Show courtesy at intersections and afternoon holding areas. We know it is hot out there. Honking your horn and driving around people who have been waiting is both rude and a poor example to the students watching.
- Feel free to use your blinkers while on campus, they are the original instant messenger!
Thank you for helping us keep your students safe!
Camp Vesper Point
The day was gorgeous, the facility was stellar, the students and teachers love the day at Camp Vesper point. This is a day that we offer at the beginning of each school year to fall in line with one of our core values. It states that “Wholesome interpersonal relationships will be fostered and developed among peers and staff.” We believe it is important to get outside of the walls of the school for students to reconnect with each other, get to know new teachers and meet new friends. It also falls in line with our ‘No Student Left Inside Outdoor Education’ initiative and program.
I hope you enjoy these pictures and the stories that have come home with your children. A day spent in worship, prayer, outside, with friends and teachers is a day well spent. We are grateful for the day.
Football Fans
SBA Football is off to one of its best starts ever. Our team is 3 & 0 and we have outscored our opponents by a total of 56 points so far this season. Under the leadership of our new Head Coach Alec Elsea and new assistant coach Jon Massey, the high powered Silverdale offense is off to a great start. If you haven't had a chance to watch our boys in action, we invite you to come see them take the field on Thursday nights. You can find the schedule, scores, roster, and more on our "Silverdale Athletics" app. Our Cheerleaders will lead you in cheering for our Seahawks!
