Who are the Qin Dynasty?
The first ruler of China came from Qin. The emperor took the name of Shi Huangdi. He believed in legalist way of running his country. Legalist means to run something strongly or to be very strict with laws. Shi Huangdi conquered rival states around China, to try and expand his land. He drove nomadic invaders out, and also tried to wipe out Confucianists teaching. By burning books, and killing 460 Confucianists.
Why was the Qin Dynasty Important?
The Qin Dynasty was important, because Shi Huangdi had the idea to build the Great Wall of China. Two reasons why he built the Great Wall of China is because he wanted to unify China. And to have his land grow larger, to keep invaders out. The Great Wall of China was built by peasants, slaves, and prisoners. Shi Huangdi also set up irrigations around China. And put high taxes to pay for the irrigations.
Where did They rule?
The Qin Dynasty took place were China is today. The first emperor of China came from the state Qin. The Great Wall of China went from China all the way to Vietnam. And it crosses over ten cities on the way. Qinghai, Gansu, Ningxia, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Hebei, Beijing, Tianjin, and Liaoning. Shi Huandgi.
What did the Qin Dynasty do?
The Qin Dynasty did many great things. They built the Great Wall Of China. The main reason why Shi Huangdi built the Great Wall Of China was to protect his land from invasions of the north. He made irrigations to help with crops. Set up high taxes to pay for the irrigations. And conquered rival states to the east to grow his rolling. He also wiped out Confucianist teaching by burning books and killing 460 Confucianist. And after Shi Huangdi died they buried 7,000 statues to help protect him in the after life.
