CHS Social Worker
I would definitely describe myself as a life long learner. I received my undergraduate degree at UT- Austin (GO LONGHORNS) and then I went on to complete my master's degree in Social Work at The University of Houston (GO COUGS). After graduation, I worked in the medical system before moving to FBISD. I absolutely love being a social worker because I get to help people. It is literally my job. I get to help students work on their goals, learn new skills and support their needs in order to be successful. It can be challenging at times, but I am truly happy to come to work. Personally, I am passionate about music, reading and my dog (of course). During this time at home, I have had to use many coping skills and self care activities to get me through. Here are a few (feel free to try): daily walks, journaling, reading, connecting with friends and family via FaceTime, music, and drinking lots of water.
CHS Mental Health Counselor
Hi Rangers! It’s me again Donna Gibbs mental health counselor for FBISD, member of the Clements family. Since the recent changes in our everyday lives, just like you it has taken me some time and effort to adjust positively. The positive changes so far are advancing my technological skills, being creative in how I spend time with friends and family, and slower pace in lifestyle which allows me time to reflect and appreciate aspects of life often times overlooked. We have been limited on certain activities but our imagination and abilities have no bounds!
CHS Counselor: Mrs. Howard
I have been in education for 18 years with 16 of those years serving in FBISD schools. I began my teaching career as a 7th grade English Language Arts and Reading teacher at Christa McAuliffe Middle School and ended the teaching portion at Baines Middle School. My education dream job was to become a counselor and I have served in this position at 3 FBISD (Missouri City Middle School, Elkins High School and Clements High School) schools. Being brand new at Clements is not only exciting, but a learning curve and I am loving getting to know the Ranger Way. I am also a Sociology Professor at Houston Community College and a Collegiate Advisor for my sorority on the campus of University of Houston.
I am the mother of a beautiful 22 year old daughter and the god mother of two of the most wonderful little girls ever. In my free time you will find me traveling (realizing that I probably will not be taking a trip until 2021, is taking some adjusting), shopping (online of course) and working in my newly constructed garden.
Mindfulness Tip of the Week
5-4-3-2-1
Try to find a quiet comfortable place. Once you are there try to:
Focus on 5 things that you can see around you
then
Focus on 4 things that you can feel
then
Focus on 3 things you can hear
then
Focus on 2 things you can smell
then
Focus on 1 thing you can taste

Quote of the week
Family Corner
Each week we will have a question or task to promote family connectedness. During this time, our social support is so important and can lead to better mental health outcomes.
Discussion: What is your favorite song and why? How do you personally relate to song and what feelings do you experience when listening to it?
Activity: Create a family playlist based on songs discussed to dance and sing along to as a family.
