Classrooms September 26, 2014
Here is a glimpse into what I saw today in our building.
Why Do I Do This?
One of the most enjoyable things that a principal can do is spend time in the classrooms with the students and teachers. This is where the real work is done. If you never leave the balcony view there should be little expectation of truly understanding the needs of our children.
Kindergarten- Mrs. Keinath
Mrs. Keinath completing a quiz with our young ones. I don't remember having assessments in kindergarten.
1st Grade- Mrs. Walter
The 1st grade was working on the number 8 before they left for the field trip to Millar's Orchard.
2nd Grade- Mrs. Weber
The class was working through a lesson on classroom citizenship.
3rd Grade- Mrs. Singer
The students were working with the commutative and identity properties today in their Math lesson.
4th Grade- Mrs. Keinath
I enjoyed working on Math with the class while other worked on their Social Studies.
5th Grade- Mrs. Kochenderfer
The class was having some problems with Google Docs when I was in the room.
6th Grade- Mr. Schoenknect
Mr. Schoenknect was covering a religion lesson on the plagues.
7th Grade- Mrs. Ostrander
The room was silent as the students worked on their Language.
Mrs. Baldwin
The 3rd grade students were working on informative PowerPoint Presentations to support their Empty Bowls project. It is pretty incredible to see 7-8 year old students working with PowerPoint. In the battle of digital natives verse digital immigrants it is apparent that we stand no chance.
