Jonathan Alder Junior High
December 16, 2022
Message from the Principal
JAJHS Families,
It is hard to believe we are ready to head into winter break next week!
December has been such a fun month. Our students’ talents have been on display through athletics, music concerts, our Drama Club’s production of Robin Hood, and in daily successes in the classrooms. Our Homeroom Competitions have continued with door decorating and the mildly-successful Blindfolded Gingerbread Decorating!
As a reminder, the end of the 2nd Quarter and 1st Semester is Friday, January 6, 2023. We plan to send printed report cards home with students on Friday, January 13, 2023. Grades are always available on Canvas using the instructions below.
I hope you and your family enjoy this special time of year creating memories together!
Sincerely,
Mr. Malany
Principal
Community Career Connections Lunch
On Friday, December 16th, JAJHS held its first-ever Community Career Connections lunch. We were honored to host guests from the Pleasant Valley Fire Department and the Plain City Police Department during both lunches. During this time, our students enjoyed chatting with these guests about their careers and memories from junior high, playing some basketball, and other casual conversations.
Our goal through these lunches is to promote mutual positive, healthy relationships with our community while exposing our students to various career opportunities available to them. We hope to continue to plan additional lunches with various local industries.
Thanks to our local first responders for participating in this event!
Student Council Spirit Days
Students are invited to participate in Student Council’s Holiday Spirit Week next week!
Monday, December 19: Cozy PJ Day!

Basketball Concessions Sign Ups
Our PTO plays a valuable role in supporting JAJHS students and teachers. One way to get involved is to assist with working concession stands during home athletic events.
Please see the links below to sign -up. The PTO will provide all of the training you need. Parents are able to get into the sporting event for free before/after working their shift. Often 7th grade parents volunteer for 8th grade games and 8th grade parents volunteer for 7th grade games.
Even if your child is not participating in the sport, parents are encouraged to volunteer as a way of connecting with other JAJHS parents!
