A Message from Dr. Bearden...
I hope this update finds you all well and staying healthy! I have a short update for you today!
On Monday, 4/20, Governor Kemp announced that he is beginning phase 1 of reopening Georgia and relaxing the shelter-in-place for many businesses and/or services. This is such great news for those Georgians! With the deadline of the shelter-in-place approaching, even though we are all looking forward to being able to get back out into the community, please continue to practice safe and healthy practices! There is still a real threat of contracting COVID-19 and I want all of our Husky community to stay healthy and well.
Dr. Looney updated FCS staff that remote learning will continue through the remainder of the school year and I will update you if this changes. Very soon, we will share our processes for parents to visit SHE to pick up students' belongings.
We will also begin planning our end of the year celebrations, including the Class of 2020 walks and our 5th grade events to celebrate those Huskies' transition to middle school. Albeit virtually, if necessary, we WILL maintain as many EOY traditions as possible. I am working on these with SHE staff, PTO, and SGC. We will be sharing our plans very soon!
That is it for this week! As always, thank you for reading and for your partnership!
Please reach out if you have any questions or anything to share. Take care, Lorrie

Student Information for Placement During 2020-21
As we start planning for next year, we need some information from you to assist with our class assignments and placement process. Please use the link at the bottom of this message if you have information about your child, which you think would be an asset to us when assigning class placement. While we cannot honor a request for a specific teacher, we do want to know the type of learning environment your child needs to thrive. Your child's teacher this year will also have a great deal of input as well. We are partners and want to work with you to best ensure a great learning experience for next year.
Melissa Herring, Curriculum Support Teacher, coordinates our class placement process using academic, social, and emotional information about each child. However, our student support team all work together to check that each child's individual needs are met!
If you have any questions, you can direct those to Ms. Herring, or another member of the student support team with whom you are familiar:
