Monday, Dec. 1

  • TSA - Technology Student Association meets from 3:30-4:30pm in the STEM Academy Bldg
  • Optional Practice for the Math Team (7th/8th) in Mrs. Goldston's Room from 3:15-4:00

Tuesday, Dec. 2

  • FCA Meeting at 7:15am in Library
  • Cyber Security Club Meets after school in STEM building.

Wednesday, Dec. 3

  • First Priority will meet in Coach Brewer's Room at 7:15am
  • Art Club will meet in Mrs. Spiegel's room at 3:15 until 4:15pm.

Thursday, Dec. 4

  • NJHS meeting this Thursday at 7:15am in Library. Dues and service hours are due no later than December 18th.

Christmas Band Concert - Thursday, Dec. 4

The Christmas Concert is this Thursday, December 4th, at 6:00pm at BJHS Zompa Auditorium. Show up early and sin up for some of the many wonderful silent auction items that will be on display in the Auditorium lobby. All the proceeds of the auction go to the band!!

Kelle Moody and Missy King represent DMS in the St. Jude's Marathon in Memphis.

DMS Stockings of Hope Charity

Stockings of Hope is now in it's second year, was founded by our very own Kathryn Anderson of Madison. She and her brother Lennon are partnering to bring hope to the children of NAL. Stockings of hope will be collecting items to fill stockings and they will be delivered to the Harris Home for Children and The Downtown Rescue Mission. Drop of Donations: Toiletries, Small Toys, Bibles, Devotionals, etc. from Nov. 1 until Dec. 5 at DMS.

Washington DC 7th Grade TRIP Information

The D.C. Trip will be from May 2nd-6th this year. Registration is available online at the Education Travel website . Our trip ID# is 106193. This is a great trip and registration fills up fast. Cost per student is $975/ Cost per Adult is $1121

Math Tutoring Available to Students

Math tutoring is offered to any student at the following times during the week.

Graham - Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday at 7:15-7:55am

Brooks - Monday at 3:15-4:00pm

Baragona - Tuesday and Wednesday at 3:15-4:00pm

Grayson - Thursday at 3:15-4:00pm

8th Grade Math

Garner - Monday at 3:15 -4:00pm

King - Tuesday at 3:15 -4:00pm

All four teams defeated crosstown rivals Monday, Nov. 24 at DMS.

DMS Students show off art skills by participating in Christmas Card Lane in Madison

The Madison Arts Council is excited to bring a new event to Madison this December - "Christmas Card Lane".

More than 20 life size Christmas Cards will be placed in the heart of the city, as part of the annual "Christmas Magic in Downtown".

DMS designers are Ange Long, Katie Pruden, and Grace Palenapa.

DMS Semester Exam Schedule for Dec. 17-Dec. 19

This is the exam schedule for the week of Dec. 17-19. DMS will be on Week C so the order will be 2nd, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 4th Blocks

  • Wed. Dec. 17 – 3rd block exam only
  • Thursday Dec. – 18 – 5th and 4th exams (afternoon)
  • Friday, Dec. 19 – 2nd and 1st exams (morning)
  • Friday, Dec. 19 is a 1/2 Day for Students and dismissal will be at 11:45am.

DMS Schoolwide Spelling Bee will be Dec. 17

New BJ Athletic Website Launches

Per Mr. Parker,

We are very excited to launch our new Athletic Website. Please note the web address has changed from to The new website is even more user friendly. You can get real time updates and notifications by following us on twitter and Facebook. The website has icons for each.

In the coming weeks, we will have a full photo gallery with complete pictures of all of our facilities. I hope you will all take a look at it…I’m a little biased, but I think it looks great.
