News for March 2017
Spring is in the Air!
Kindergarten had a busy February! Students celebrated the 100th Day of School and Valentine's Day. We enjoyed all of the excitement last month but are now looking forward to spring!
100th Day of School
On the 100th Day of School, Kindergarten participated in collaborative centers in the gym. Students made 100th Day Headbands with ten groups of ten different pictures, got out 100 wiggles with ten different exercises, and built a 100 piece Lego structure. They also counted coins to 100 cents and dollar bills to $100. Students worked together to read 100th Day of School books and decorate a Kindergarten banner. Take a look at our 100th Day of School Video and pictures below!

Measurement
In math, students learned about estimation and measurement. They used nonstandard units such as cubes, paper clips, pennies, or even Legos to measure length, width, and height of items! Students also learned how to use a ruler to measure and to draw a line of given inches. Students used the vocabulary words longer, shorter, or taller to compare measurements. They compared the weight of objects using a balance scale and measured capacity of different sized containers as well.
February Science
This past month we learned about weather and then moved into night/day. These are some of the experiments we did!
