SCHOOL D-DAYS
We celebrate "D-Days" throughout the school year.
This has been designed to commemorate the School D-Days in Andalusia (Spain). We celebrate "D-Days" throughout the school year, such as Constitution Day, Andalusia Day or International Book Day, but we also work in class others such as Chesnut Day, Gender Equality day and Non Violence and Peace Day
CHESNUT DAY (30TH OCTOBER)
Chestnut Day is the Autumn Festival. We are located in Malaga (Andalusia, Spain), where there are beautiful chestnut trees forests so this day has a special meaning. We celebrate a little party with pupils' families, roasting chestnuts.
GENDER EQUALITY DAY (25TH NOVEMBER)
On December 17, 1999, the United Nations General Assembly designated November 25 (the anniversary of the day of the murder of the Mirabal sisters) as the annual date for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women in commemoration of the sisters. Nowaday gender violence is one of the main social problems.
NON-VIOLENCE AND PEACE DAY (30TH JANUARY)
The School Day of Non-violence and Peace is an observance founded by the Spanish poet Lorenzo Vidal Vidal in 1964. It is observed on January 30 every year, on the anniversary of the death of Gandhi. Its basic and permanent message is: "Universal Love, Non-violence and Peace. Universal Love is better than egoism, Non-violence is better than violence, and Peace is better than war"
